We would like to say our warmest Thank You to all our Grandparents who attended our Grandparents' Prayer Service and who made the day so very special for us. We also remember the grandparents who could not be with us on the day - those who could not travel, those who live far away, those who are sick either at home or in hospital and those who are with God in heaven. Please know that we hold you all in a special place in our hearts because you hold us in your dearest thoughts.
Sincere thanks to all our teachers who helped us prepare for the day and in particular Ms Groarke who co-ordinated this service in our school.

Our Grandparents
Our Grandparents love us
They always make us laugh
They tell us old stories
And show us photographs (Úna)
They always make us laugh
They tell us old stories
And show us photographs (Úna)
I love to listen to my grandparents stories … like the time
my uncle broke his hand
Because he was on a sledge after you told him he was band,
The sledge hit its first bump,
And John flew off it like a lump,
His hand swelled up like a bubble
And of course the boys got in serious trouble! (Hannah)

The sledge hit its first bump,
And John flew off it like a lump,
His hand swelled up like a bubble
And of course the boys got in serious trouble! (Hannah)
But sometimes they act the fool,
My Grandparents are very funny,
And I think it’s great when they give me money! (Dylan)
My Grandparents are really cool,
My grandparents are always there for me
Your hugs are like a special remedee,
Oh and my grandparents love a good cup of tea. (Shannon)
I hold the memories of my grandparents tight
My Granda loved to pretend fight
We loved to watch telly together
In all types of weather. (Óisin B)

My grandparents love to hear my stories
And would do anything to ease our worries
My grandparents love to dance
They’d go dancing every night given half the chance. (Aine)
My grandparents take me new places
To see new buildings and new faces
You can always rely on them for a twix
When you really need a sugar fix. (Cónal)

My grandparents like to keep fit,
Sometimes I need to tell them to sit,
My grandparents love to tease me
But they would do anything just to please me (Patrick)
On Fridays my grandparents look after us after school
We play on the farm it is cool
My grandparents have a dog called Timmy
He loves to jump and play and shimmy. (Amy)

My grandparents are very funny
They buy us ice cream when it is sunny
They teach us all sorts of new things
And they certainly know how to sing. (Benas)

My Granda is mad into football
Kildare ‘Up the Lily Whites’ he does call
Granny is mad into gardening and loves a cup of tea
She makes us dinner every Sunday and is never off her feet. (Lauren)
My grandparents are always on the go
Playing cards or going to bingo!
Although they spoil us like mad,
They teach us manners good not bad. (Gary)
My grandparents always encourage us to eat the crusts on our bread.
It will give us lovely curls they said.
They encourage us to pray
And teach us that we can’t always have our way. (Óisin Mc E)

I love my grandparents and they love me too.
They look after me when I have the flu
If they have a chocolate bar they will always give me half
They tell me stories to make me laugh. (Mathew)
In my Grandparents house I love to stay over,
Especially when there’s Pavalova
I teach them how to use their phone,
They tell me not to moan or groan (Kyle)
