School Uniform Survey - Results

The Minister of Education and Skills requested that schools carry out a survey regarding school uniforms with associated partners including our parental body. Our on-line survey was open from January to mid February.

Below are the results of Scoil Mhuire's survey. Many thanks for your participation

1. Do you want a school uniform in this school?

Yes 100%

No 0%

2. Please indicate your view re a school crested jumper.

I feel that a crested jumper adds to a pupil's sense of belonging to a specific school and is a way in which a school makes itself unique from other schools. A crest is representative of the school's community. 99%

I feel a crested jumper is no addition to a school's uniform. 1%

3. My preference for a crested jumper is:

continue with present supplier                                                                              82%

purchase own jumper and a sew on crest                                                                  11%

purchase own jumper and an iron on crest                                                                7%

4. In relation to P.E. clothing:

I wish to continue with the present system. 83%

I would be interested in having a school tracksuit for P.E. days. A plain tracksuit such as navy tracksuit bottoms and a navy sweatshirt/hoodie with no school crest or logos. 17%

Following the results above the present system re purchase of crested jumpers in The Fabric Centre and wearing of own P.E. clothing will continue for the next academic year.
